Japonisme

Bringing together an eclectic array of artistic works detailing Japan’s impact on Western art in the 19th and 20th century, Japonisme (Japan and the Birth of Modern Art) is an exhibition not to be missed! This showcase draws upon the entire NGV Collection, and displays a fascinating era in America and Europe’s artistic histories.

Currently displayed at the National Gallery of Victoria, the Japonisme exhibition is a cornucopia of fantastic works for fans of art and history. Plus, given that this exhibition runs until October 28th, you have plenty of time to get down to the NGV for this one-of-a-kind event.

Taste of Portugal

In many ways, Melbourne can be seen as a tapestry of different cultural influences. This can be seen in every facet of the city, from its architecture to its eclectic culinary options. Because of this, Melbourne is often the host of cultural festivals; acting as a celebration of, and introduction to, a culture that is very different from our own.

One such festival is Taste of Portugal; a day filled with  the celebration of Portuguese music, food, art and dance.
